We are so excited to be taking part in this year's Thinking of You Week, starting on Monday 20th September. It's a special week dedicated to harnessing the emotional power of greeting cards to create a wave of love, caring and happiness around the country and even around the world. And, I think you'll agree, it couldn't be more needed than right at this moment!

As for us, we'll be surprising customers with random acts of kindness. We are giving away free cards at points throughout the week to spread the card-sending-smiles to even more people. For even more freebies, enter our competition on social media to win a fantastic Gratitutes Thank you card Boxes and gold Ted Baker Pen. We will post it to you for free and then you can pay it forward by sending them to loved ones!

Stay Connected

In the current climate of social distancing, and with further restrictions looming on the horizon, it’s become even more important than ever to reach out safely to our friends, family, loved ones and our communities. Loneliness and isolation can have a real negative impact on our health and wellbeing. According to the Red Cross, even before the corona virus outbreak, one in five of us said we often or always felt lonely. This year's extended period of social distancing, and shielding for some, has increased the risks. Although it's not a complete solution, a few handwritten words, inside a thoughtfully chosen greeting card can make the a real difference to someone.

Share the Love

Here at More Than Just a Gift, we are passionate about greetings cards. There’s definitely something about the power of handwritten cards - we love choosing them, we love sending them and we love getting them! Card sending brings enjoyment to sender and recipient alike. The pleasure of writing a message inside a lovingly designed and beautifully crafted card will always outweigh the sending of a text or an email.  And, research has shown that receiving a handwritten card creates a psychological boost that lasts far longer than that of a text. Nothing is nicer than unexpectedly discovering a hand addressed envelope in your normally boring pile of post.

Long Lasting Reminder

The fact that you've gone to the effort of choosing a particular card and writing an individual message, makes the person receiving it feel far more special  and cared for. Unlike digital messages, cards are displayed around the home. With us all spending so much more time in our homes, this means that it will be seen many times a day. Every time the person sees it, they’re reminded of you and how much you care. Even after they're taken down, many cards are treasured for years afterwards, sometimes framed and put on the wall permanently. However they're saved, they become a long lasting reminder of the person that has sent it and of your relationship with them.

How Can You Join In Too?

As communities around the country are facing renewed social distancing measures, reaching out safely and making connections like this becomes even more important. So we invite you to make every week a Thinking of You Week. Join us as we bridge the social distancing gap…
