Hello! it’s the first day of the second lockdown here at More Than Just a Gift - Narborough Hall and I thought you might like a peek at what's happening behind the scenes. Last lockdown was a massive shock and we didn't really know what to do with ourselves on Day One. This time around, we have a lot more idea of what to expect.
Today it feels very strange to be in the shop without any customers again. We definitely miss you all! But, we’ve put on the lights and the music anyway and we are going to be here throughout lockdown to pick and pack your orders. Whether its just a card or you are in full flow with your Christmas shopping, we are here to help.
We've spent the last few months preparing for the possibility of a winter lockdown. We gave our website a brand new look and added two thousand more products! We are totally prepared to be 100% online with our Click & Collect or Home Delivery options. Still, this second lockdown couldn’t have come at a worse time for retailers, and smaller independent shops feel the pinch so much more than the big stores. We feel incredibly blessed that we have such a wonderful band of loyal followers, you supported us so well through the last lockdown. This time round we know we can rely on you to shop small and independent as much as you can.
There are so many hard-working, dedicated independent shop owners out there, determined to make the best of this awful situation. Please, please do make that effort to support them. Buying something is great but there is lots you can do even without spending a penny. Spread the word among your friends and family. Post a positive review on Google or Facebook. Like, share and follow them on social media. Comment on their posts too- your message could be just the boost a business owner needs to get them through the day. Knowing there is someone out there and you aren’t just shouting into the void does really help!
Despite the massive challenges, like so many other small business owners we are determined to remain positive and to make this lockdown lighter and brighter for all our customers in whatever way we can. Let me know how we can help you stay positive in the comments.
