i have been researching my family history for many years now and found in the 1939 Registration my father Eric Francis Blundell lived with his mum Lillian Hettie Blundell at 19 Coventrey, Rd Leicestershire. in the census he is Eric Jr an he was 8 years old going to school. the family is from London and during the Blitz my Dad and his siblings were sent by train out to the countryside, so I’m thinking this is where he went. i know that his mum was a clippie on the double decker buses and sometimes visited our lived with her children while her husband stayed in London as a fireman. i am glad that the building that was a refuge for my family during troubled times is still standing and has been brought back to it’s glory and will last for many years to come.
