Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly

The pitches were muddy, it rained endlessly but there was always Charles Buchan’s Football Monthly to look forward to. Back in 1951 Britain’s first glossy football, cheering up a grey, post-war nation with it’s integrity and sparkling analysis. At the height of it’s fame it sold 100,000 copies a month. Every schoolboy wanted to buy it. Every player wanted to be part of it. For two decades it captured the heart and soul of the game.
Now Narborough Hall revives those memories. The Best of… book is filled with images, articles and snippets, from over 20 years of football nostalgia. The 18 panel printed football is a grand reminder of how it was in the days of rattles and brylcreme. The useful washbag is inspired by the bootbags of yesteryear. The striking leather wallet is presented in a printed gift tin. The sturdy flask is ideal for a steaming hot cup of tea or bovril to warm you up on the freezing terraces and if the tea fails to hit the spot you can always add a nip of whisky from your leather bound hip flask.
